Welcome to August's issue of Better Than. This month's issue is dedicated to the memory of Rachel's mum Janet who sadly passed on 11th August 2026 while Rachel and I were at the International Discworld Convention in Hinckley.

Last month I said I planned to write in this issue about the convention and also about the TTRPG Adventures in Ankh-Morpork that was due for release in early August. The TTRPG did actually turn up at our house three hours into our journey to the convention. The good news it is was safely collected by Rachel's son Jack.

Unfortunately the passing of Rachel's mum has put us in a bit of spin. We've been busy sorting out all the things that have to be sorted when someone passes. Hopefully I'll find more time this month to write about the convention and Adventures in Ankh-Morpork.

For those of you with an artistic bent, look out later in the month for Better Than's annual DiscTober prompts. We'll post it on our socials and our website nearer the later part of September.

Our events page is filling up again. It is so good to see so many productions happening around the world.
